Customizing the view bar

You can easily add your own views to the view bar. These views are also available from the Views/Custom Views menu, and from the drop-down menu of the Custom Views button on the toolbar.

1.Choose Views Setup from the View menu.
 
You see the 'Browse Views' window.
2.You can group the custom views under different headings. The list of the left displays these groups.
 
To add a new group, right-click the list and choose Add Group from the popup menu.
3.The list to the right displays the views in the selected group.
 
To add a new view, click the Add button.
 
You see the 'Select View Type' window.
4.Select the type of view you want to create: Stamp view or Lookup view.
 
Note: When creating a new lookup view, you must also select lookup table.
5.Click OK.
 
You see the 'Add Browse View' window.
6.First, give the view a title in the Title field.
7.From the List layout drop-down list, select the list layout you want to link to this browse view.
 
Note: If you don't select a list layout, the program will use the list layout that the last active view used.
8.From the Sort order drop-down list, select the sort order you want to link to this browse view.
 
Note: If you don't select a sort order, the program will use the sort order that the last active view used.
9.From the Filter drop-down list, select the filter you want to link to this browse view.
 
Note: Leave this field empty if you don't want to use a filter.
10.From the Grouping Definition drop-down list, select the grouping definition you want to link to this browse view.
 
Note: Leave this field empty if you don't want to use the grouping feature.
11.Select the Close grouping box option if you want the program to close the grouping list when you activate this view.
12.To use a different preview pane template than the default template, specify the path to this template file in the Explorer template field.
 
Note: To switch back to the default template when the view is active, right-click the preview pane and choose Use Default Template from the popup menu.
13.Select the Close preview pane option if you want the program to close the preview pane when you activate this view.
14.Click OK
15.Repeat step 3 - 14 to add another view.
16.Click OK to save the changes and close the window.
