1.Choose Auto Catalog from the Tools menu.

You see the 'Auto Catalog' window.
2.To search drives/folders on your hard drive, select Folders and specify the drive/folder that program should search. Leave this field empty to search all hard drives.

To search the list of installed programs (Windows Start Menu/Programs and Desktop), select Installed programs.
3.To exclude all folders that contain programs already in the database, check the Exclude folders with programs already in database box.
4.Click the Search button.
5.When SoftCAT is finished searching, review the search result and uncheck the programs you do not want to add to the database.
6.Click the Add button.

SoftCAT adds the selected programs to the database, and will read the title, version number, publisher, and icon from the exe file (if this information is available).
