Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

This function will let you export a list of your software to the notes section on your iPod. To access your database on the iPod, select the Notes menu entry and then SoftCAT.

The software are automatically grouped by the first letter of the title. You can export a simple list, or include a detail page for each item. You can easily set up which fields you want to export, and a filter to limit which programs to export.

1.Choose Export / iPod Notes from the File menu.

You see the 'Export to iPod Notes' window.
2.To export directly to your iPod, connect your iPod to your PC, then select Export directly to iPod. If you want to export to a different folder than "\SoftCAT" on your iPod, specify the name of this folder in the Base folder field.

To export to a folder on your PC's hard drive (so that you laster can manually transfer the files to the iPod), select Export to folder, and then click the Browse button to specify the name of the folder.
3.If you want to set up a filter to limit which programs to export, open the Export menu and choose Filter.
4.If you want to export a detail page for each item, check the Export detail page box, and then select the fields you want to export.

Note that the iPod notes system is limited to 1000 text files, and that each file cannot be larger than 4Kb in size. This means that if you want to export more than 1000 items, you cannot generate separate detail pages.
5.If you want to save the export definition so that you can reuse it later, choose Save from the File menu.
6.To start the export process, click the Export button .
