Post French VAT modification

Hi,

Since April, 1st, all the prices for french books increased.
Is it a way to make a GENERAL update of book's prices ?

You could try Tools=>Adjust Value. Backup your database first!

Book > Set Field Value > Appraisal?

I guess you would need to do a search and only select the relevant books, i.e. the ones for sale & Currency (French)?

Or else Search > Replace Select your field. Not sure if BookCAT does formulas, as in multiply existing number field by 1.1 to give a 10% increase.

I haven't tried any of these, but just ideas. Definitely do a back up, or you'll be toast!!!! Search & Replace is very DANGEROUS.

Are you sure you are updating the correct field? What is the old and the new VAT rate?

But some editors have increased more than 1.5% their book's prices, and others don't.
It's a problem.
Can I open a new database, paste all my ISBN (10000...), search only for prices, and merge (by import ?) with my actual database ?

Yes, that is a problem. But if the VAT rate increases from 5.5% to 7%, the actual price increases by 1.4218%

If you want update the Selling Price field (?), choose Tools=>Adjust Value=>Selling Price, and enter "1.4218" then click OK.

No, this is not possible.

If you know what you are doing, this should be possible...
