I have suggested in the past that it should be possible to add an ISBN number to the want list and download the book details automatically from the internet. In addition, the help doc says

"To add a book on your want list to your collection, choose Add to Collection from the Want List menu. BookCAT will automatically search for the book details online, and add a new entry in the Book View."

I couldn't get it to search automatically, and when I click on "Update -download from internet", it won't do it unless I first add in the ISBN.

This doesn't make sense. My want list consists of the name of the book and maybe the author. If I have to go online to get the ISBN and then type that in and the name and the author, and only AFTER I get the book I can transfer it to the database and only THEN download the rest of the information - then the program isn't helping me.

Also, we need an easy way to access the database from a smartphone for use when away from the computer, like in a bookstore, and to be able to sync with the database on the computer. Currently I have to export a want list, move it to the phone, and then manually keep everything updated. There are other programs already available doing this correctly.

I would like to request this also.

I just started using the 'want list' feature a bit more now and find it odd that,
1. You cant enter a ISBN number and download from the internet, to auto fill the author and title.
2. at the same time adding A picture of the book.
3. also the books Synopsis filled in.
4. and at least the books genre/type.

Entering a book that you want, using just the isbn number.

Reviewing my 'want list' by reading thru the synopsis of a book, I may decide I dont want the book and I can then remove it from the list. As of now I would have to look at my want list, get the isbn number and look up each book independently on the internet to find out what its about.

The books cover artwork would be nice, sometimes I forget a title but the books cover is stuck in my head and I know when I see it somewhere that Im looking for it.

Having the Genre/Type available. To print a 'want list' by 'Genre/Type' to take to a store with me. So I know where I may have to look for it and other books in the same (genre) location with out having to skip around the store from isle to isle.
