Post Band Member Tab

One thing that I find frustrating about the program is when I'm entering credits for an album and I come to the Band Member tab and want to use the "Use Lineup..." feature, however the program puts everything the artist has played on the other albums as well, so now I have to remove each line with an instrument the individual member plays that is not on this particular album I'm working on. This especially is frustrating when the list is very long (how many instruments did each of the members of The Beatles play...it's very long)

Couldn't you set up a check off box (marked item) for each instrument (vocals, keyboards, guitar, etc...) in the "Edit Lineup" area so the individual groups/artists instruments they play are defined. So when you go to the "Use Lineup..." feature, the only thing that gets entered into the database for that particular album is the items that have been flagged as a given.

The result is when you use the "Use Lineup..." feature you now get is the standard lineup of the band members (based on the year they were in the band if applicable) with the normal items that he/she plays in the band (vocals, guitar, keyboard, etc...) entered in the database, now all you are adding are only the specific instruments (played for that individual album). It would save a lot of time from removing non-applicable data everytime you enter data for another album by an existing artist.

Thanks

Isn't it better to simply include the "standard" instruments in the lineup?

Unfortunately, I used the update button in the edit lineup section on several hundred artists/groups, which in turn slams everything the person ever played on, into the list (Very Dangerous Button...heheh), so now when you use the "use lineup" button it grabs everything, I guess the only thing I can do is go back and edit each individual player in each of the lineups, I believe i'm correct that when I edit the lineup it will not effect the existing data for the individual album. On another note then

How about a button in the "Edit Credits" section in any of the tabs such as "Band Member" where it would duplicate the name in the previous slot into the new slot

Graham Gouldman Vocals
Graham Gouldman Acoustic Guitar
" "
This is handy since right at the present time, you have to highlight the name then copy and paste it on the next line, it would be nice to have this quick function all in one spot.

Thanks

It's much easier:
You can leave the next line blank until you need a new band member, that means you enter:
Graham Gouldman
[TAB] Vocals
[Cursor Down] Acoustic Guitar
[Cursor Down] (next instrument(s))
...

When you're finished with "Graham Gouldman" you enter [Enter] for the next slot and then insert the new band member and [TAB] for next instrument(s)
