1. Add more drop-down lists for sub-categories
2. In contents-view, add a possibility to view special features, not just details as it is now.
3. A possibility to add personal rating to spec.feat.
4. Soundtrack listing as it is on IMDB. Preferably as datafields; artist, song.
5. In Contents-People, add a "sort-by-name"-feature (last name)

This is all for now

I forgot; Is there any possibility to connect awards to people?
When an actor gets a award/nominee-recorded it shows up in "Person", maybe in the Explorerwindow?!

Hi Rolfen

1) You can edit the Sub-Category table yourself, and add as many items as you want.

2) I have both the Special Features and Details in Video View. Not sure what you mean here. Are you entering information in the Special Features section?

3) This would be nice. But I currently use one of the drop-down boxes in the Video section.

4) I have Catvids. So I use that to list soundtrack information. Maybe you could use one of the Memo fields?

5) I rather have it the way it is now. But, to each his own.

Hope this helps.

Steve.

Perhaps i didn't explain myself correctly. My english is not that good.

1. Of course, i know that you can edit the sub-category table, but i wrote that i wanted more lists so that you can add more than one sub-category. "Return of the King" has Category: Fantasy and Subcategory: Adventure, Action on IMDB.
2. I wrote Contents View, not Video View. Press F10, then you are in Contents View. Try to add a column in Browseview and you can just add the details, not the spec.feat
3. How do you do this?
4. Yes, you can use a memofield, but then you don't have a search- or "list"-function. This would be nice if you're looking for a special song.

Hi Rolfen

1) Not sure why you would want more than one sub-category. The category and sub-category are enough for me. But - user's preference.

2) Not sure why you would want Special Features in Contents View. It is already in Video View. But I did manage to add both items to the Browse View in Contents.

3) Just rename one of the dropdown boxes in Video or Contents to "Special Features", for example. Then add to the table your own rating system.

4) Okay, I see where you are going here. Could you not use one of the Custom Boxes for this?

Steve.

Will have a look at the other points ASAP, in the meanwhile I comment about the main topic.
If you need to use MORE categories ( I understand ) I can suggest to rename and use the Rating pane at Contents level.

I renamed the original Category and Sub-Category fields to "IMDb Main Cat" and "IMDb Sub-Cat".
Then I renamed a custom lookup field as "Rating" in which I use the Italian values only, hence I don't download data from the IMDb when populating / updating the database.
Finally, I renamed the Original "Rating" pane to "My Categories" where I got rid of the original "rating" values and now can store as many categories as I like: IMDb gives only 2 categories anyway and I think it is wise to leave them where they are, but using this way it is possible to use many more links between movies sharing the same Categories, kind of what the Keywords pane does...
I also found out that at the IMDb the movies are often listed / categorized in a way that I don't like and using my own categories helps much because I would change IMDb's values anyway... so I can use either the original IMDb values and my personal categories when searching, filtering, printing, browsing, etc...
Since next CATVids version will most likely work as CATraxx alreday does, it will be also possible to move i.e. the custom "My Categories" pane under the proper Library tab and have it displayed together with the "usual" Category & Sub-Category fields...
Hope this helps a little & have a nice weekend
