Also there is the possibility to create linked items, I would need the treatment of a father-child relation between items with the aim to get a hierarchical sorted report. Example: Every asset item may be a container (flag) and contain other asset items (foreign key) i.e. a cupboard(item) contains some drawers (item), a drawer contains some boxes(item), a box contains other items. I'm using this in my self programmed MS Access asset management and I think this could be an interesting feature for everyone and with this feature I could migrate my application to CATAsset as I'm almost using some of the CAT softwares.

I was going to post this suggestion also. I want to inventory computer components (hard drives, memory sticks, optical drives, video cards, etc.) and have those items stored as sub-items to the PC system they are installed in. Or actually, as sub-items to the system case.
