As I new uer of StampCat the prospect of entering several thousand basic Stanley Gibbons entries is daunting. Does anyone have, for free or for payment, an up to date databas of GB Stanley Gibbons pre-entered stamp descriptions?

I think your request is difficult to fulfill because all catalog publishers copyright their publications even down to the catnums. Fredrik has developed a wonderfully flexible package that I have reconfigured extensively, both the database and the data entry form. I have been copying catalog data into several databases since I got my first copy of StampCAT in 2005. True, it's a lot of work, but I think it's worth it. Using computers with stamp collecting to catalog, make album pages, etc., certainly expands the old world of just sticking stamps in albums. I find this very satisfying because I am very pleased with and proud of my end-product.

3D stamp offers commonwealth SG info and very fine imaging.
the htm reports of collection could be imported with some work ...

personally, I prefer to load my stamp-finds into stampCat - group sort ... the last stage is xref
to dataset of choice. SG is a big offender of renumbering ... machins SGSV4
