Post CATVids v9.01.01

CATVids version 9.01.01 is now available for download.

You can download the new version from: http://www.fnprg.com/catvids/download.html

If you already have version 9.01 installed, download the update patch from http://www.fnprg.com/catvids/update.html

Changes in this update:

  • FIXED: Problem with date format if date separator was something else than "/".
  • FIXED: "Incorrect length" error when trying to activate registration key on some systems.

Post Re: CATVids v9.01.01

Don't know if others have same problem but if I am in Catvids and check for update says 9.01.01 available and download and sends me to patch site. If I download and run patch it has several errors like can't find INternet dll, won't load my database, can't find templates whenn my database finallly loads. Did this on two machines so not my setup. Downloaded full version and ran and everything cool.

Just a note.

Hi GAstorino,

I was just finishing up my own post about the same thing when I saw your post come in. Interesting.

Fredrik, here's my story:

Installed the 9.01.01 update last night but didn't open the program, and tonight when I opened CATVids I got two errors. The first was 'cannot find internet.dll', but that seemed to resolve itself as the program did its usual update search and downloaded the file. Second problem was that once the program opened, instead of video details in the browse window I got this message "ERROR: File 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\CATVids\Explorer Templates\VideoBrowse.xsl' could not be found. Make sure you have selected the correct folder under Tools->Explorer Templates."

Nothing in my setup or file locations has changed since my initial install years ago, and I've never gotten such an error with any previous updates, major or minor. Tried a reboot and a reinstall of the update, but neither made any difference.

All my other CAT apps have the Explorer Templates under D:\CATapp\, and that is how my CATVids was set up as well, but now that entire folder for CATVids is gone, and a search reveals no CATVids Explorer Templates folder anywhere on my drives. Interestingly, it did create an Explorer Templates backup folder the first time (but not on the reinstall, since the folder was gone). Any idea what happened here, and the best way to resolve it? I suspect installing the full app rather than the update would take care of it, but I await your feedback, and am really curious as to what happened.

Thanks. I'm running Win XP Pro if that matters.

Bob

I also had problems with this patch, the explorer templates not being installed, causing an error.
Installed the full version and all OK.

But did you install the patch to the same folder as version 9.01?

I have uploaded a new setup file that fixes the template problem. Have no idea why you got the "internet.dll" error, though...

Thanks for the quick fix. As alway, best support on the planet!! :)

Of course I have no idea either re the internet.dll error, but it's interesting that GAstorino had that problem as well. I'll try the patch again when i get home this evening, and I'm sure all will again be right with the world.

P.S. - for some reason I'm just now noticing this, but how did some of us old-timers join the forum before you?!?
