Post Group composition in credits

Bonjour

With "Explorer View", I seek a musician, for example "Frank Kirkland". The result contains multiple records (LP, CD, etc ...). I choose to look in a compilation called "Chicago the Blues Today". I am looking for plays with whom Frank Kirkland (Artist or Group) in the "Credits".
It is not possible to know with whom he played directly. The only way to proceed by pooling with song titles.
Is it possible to "Explorer View", "Credits" to have the answer immediately?
Do you understand me?

Me comprenez-vous?

Merci

Charlie

Here is a template that will show an album's credits organized by track. Hopefully it displays the information you want to see.

Album_Tracks_Credits.png

Add the attached template Album_Tracks_Credits.xsl to your templates folder. Then open Album.xsl with a text editor and add a menu item as follows:
Search for the code:
Code:
     <xsl:text> | </xsl:text>
     <A HREF="Album_Tracks.xsl">Tracks</A>

Before the code above, insert this code:
Code:
     <xsl:text> | </xsl:text>
     <A HREF="Album_Tracks_Credits.xsl">Track Credits</A>

Done. More options for how the credits are displayed will be found when you open Album_Tracks_Credits.xsl with a text editor.

This template goes all the way back to 2005. I've been using it ever since. Thanks to the original author TK-303.

Edit: Updated Album_Tracks_Credits.xsl to add Venue as a display option and made several other fixes.

Bonjour Dave

My question is because I want to use CATraxx with all these functions directly.
I'm not informatician just CATraxx user!!!!!!!!!! I can not know.
I want to use CATraxx without the need to integrate programs.

I'm willing to try. Can you say to me the way, simply?

Merci, excuse for my poor language.

We are adding only one new template and a menu link in Album.xsl to access it.

If you do not want to edit your Album.xsl then download the file attached here (and the Album_Tracks_Credits.xsl template attached in the post above) and put them in your templates folder. It does not get any simpler than that.

Bonjour

I did the first example that you have proposed. Now I do not have access to my records! I have the following message: ERROR: Record does not exist.
This is why I will not touch the program, I know nothing.
What can I do now?

Bonjour

It's OK now with your last Album.xsl, it's perfect. I have two choices for crédits.

Many Thanks for your help.

Hi Dave

This is a very nice template.
One question:
Is there any special reason for the width declaration:
Code:
<xsl:if test="$display_credits_author = 'yes'">
      <TD CLASS="tablerecordscell" NOWRAP="" width="30">
        <xsl:apply-templates select="authorcredits"/>
      </TD>
    </xsl:if>

The result is, that the authors first/second names are split.

Removing it gives a much nicer display:

No special reason (that I can remember).

Good suggestion.

Dave

This is an excellent 'new' template. I don't recall it from 2005 - like most other things :(

Can it be modified to show the recording venue as an alternative to the studio? I don't have many tracks with entries for both a venue and a studio so displaying either/or in the same cell would be fine for me. I have tried trying to find the means of referencing the venue for a live track but at best I get a blank cell and at worst, well, I'm sure you can imagine the worst.

Regards

Ken

Ha! I know what you mean! I think it was posted on the old Traxxers group on Yahoo, although I could not find it there tonight.

Yes. The template in the post above has been modified to add venue as an option. It defaults to "no" so you will need to edit the template to turn it on. The studio credits remain in a separate column and can be displayed or not independent of the venue setting.

A couple other changes were made to the template as well. I took the suggestion by Thomas above and removed an unneeded width attribute, removed the number of columns variable since it really is not needed, and fixed a bug from the original template in the studio credits section.
