dbpoweramp > CATraxx for betta meta
Just a tip for those to whom it may apply.
dbpoweramp provides much better data than CDDB. (See dbpoweramp's site for why). Even on classical CDs it often approaches being correct. And the interface make it easy to blank out all the author/composer data when there's too much garbage in there.
For new CDs, I am now ripping them with dbpoweramp, and then using Audio>Scan Folder to bring the information into CATtraxx. I then just change the format to CD, as my practice is to catalog only the original media, not backups.
The result is much better data being populated into CATraxx, so less cleanup time is needed. As well, the process is more efficient than my old way of separately scanning the CD in CATtraxx and ripping it in iTunes. (I abandoned EAC long ago - just to slow and tedious for the slight benefits.)
