I was very glad, after I had found, finally, a very good sound carrier management on the Internet.

In order to try out I recently installed CATraxx 9.10.11. During the installation, nevertheless, the error message occured:

Error E:\CATraxx\CDDBControl.dll Unable to register the DLL/OCX: CreateProcess failed; code 2. Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden (The system cannot find the given file).
Click Retry to try again, Ignore to proceed anyway (recommended), or Abort to cancel installation.

In addition you can find a tip in the CATraxx FAQ under "CDDB-> I'm unable to register with CDDB!"

Nevertheless, the downloaded and explained file "cddbcontrol_setup.exe" brought no improvement: still the same error message!!!

If it can be, that CATraxx wants to be installed absolutely on the partition C: and no other installation path accepted? With me, e.g., on partition E:...

I'm using Windows XP Professional SP3, installed on 09/04/2005 at an AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+ 2000 MHz with 2.048 MB RAM, Mainboard Shuttle AK39.

Like I described, the error message came during installation of the CATraxx 9.10.11 setup.exe, after that I tried to install the cddbcontrol_setup.exe, which I downloaded some months ago (an older version I think). The same error message occured. After that I searched the Support Forum at FNProgramvare, discovered the FAQ and downloaded the actual cddbcontrol_setup.exe - with the same result (error message occured)!

Are you able to run CATraxx (even though downloading from CDDB does not work)?

Search for "regsvr32.exe" from the Start menu (Search=>For Files or Folders) to see if you have it at all. It should be located in the "C:\Windows\System32" folder.

Yes, CATraxx is working, only the CDDB doesn't work. If I use the CATraxx-Link under "Tasks" -> "Add album by scanning CD (download from CDDB)" I get the error message:

Unable to load the CDDB Control
"Klasse nicht registriert"
You must have the latest version of CDDBControl.dll and CDDBUI.dll installed on your system.
Do you want to download the CDDB Control now?

If I do so a new tab in my browser opens and I can download the actual "cddbcontrol_setup.exe" from your homepage. This file can't fix my problem because the same error message as posted in my first posting is shown!

regsvr32.exe was found not in C:\Windows\System32, but in D:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386. I've installed my OS not on C: -> in D: - a little bit different from the most of all windows users, but it works

Don't know it this is a problem for CATraxx, but I've a lot of other music players, video players and software for creating different music and video files like flac, mp3, mpeg and so on.

I like your administrative software - a little too extensively for my taste - but all together OK. It would be helpful if there were different language versions - not everybody is able to do so perfectly English that he understands all orders and possibilities right away. Should one succeed in making still the data bank query CDDB usual, I would not be declined to acquire your software, because I am for a long time in search of a very good sound carrier management which can also administer extensive collections of several thousand copies.

Not sure what is wrong, I don't recall this problem being reported before. Please try this to manually register the two CDDB dlls:

1. Open the Windows Start menu, and choose Run.

2. Enter this into the Open field, then click OK:


If you have installed CATraxx to a different folder, adjust the path accordingly.

You should see a message saying "DllRegisterServer succeeded".

3. Then, enter this into the Open field, then click OK:

Has functioned really very well, confirmation window of Gracenote appeared, other input and reading in about CDDB has functioned wonderfully with five Test-CD's. THANK YOU

In the meantime, by the way, I have uninstalled CATraxx 9.10.11 and I've downloaded the most topical version 9.20.01 and installed it. Here first the same problems with the CDDB binding, however, now it seems to hit.

Does CATraxx need possibly NET.Framework to the functioning??? I have on my system not the most topical versions on it because there was unstable behaviour and no function of the software "Nero multimedia suite 10" - see also here

Here finally I would not like to repeat over again my question of a previous Postings - not on the subject belonging, but for myself quite insignificant:

is CATraxx available in the foreseeable future also in other language versions (with my mother tongue German I do myself simply light) or can CATraxx be adapted even in any manner by the user of his mother tongue? About "tools"-> "Database of set-up" the Tables and Fields with own information can be called. Nevertheless, from this in the main window of CATraxx during the data input nothing is to be seen. Would this function, for example, about Templates?

I am still CATraxx novice and would please me about comprehensive help very much!

You can only rename field (and table) names.


Now, that is strange. Try this:

1. Open the SAMPLE database.

2. Choose Tools=>Database Setup, make sure the Album table is selected, then click the Fields tab.

3. Locate the Custom 01 field, and change the field name to "Testing".



4. Click OK. Now open the Album Edit window, and click the Custom tab. The Custom 01 field should have been renamed.

Note that you can also rename field directly from the data entry window. Simply right-click the field, then choose Rename Field:
