Post Re: MP3 file(s) deleted after Write to Tag

Hi FredrikN

But the file was there before. No other program will work with my mp3's. In the last backup, the file still exists. Therefore, I copy the offending file back again. This happens seemingly arbitrary. For the next "write to tag" is missing a different file that was previously still there (or has not been criticized).

I really don't know. This error occurs before CATraxx even touches the file. Sure you can't find the file in another folder?

Post Re: MP3 file(s) deleted after Write to Tag

Hi FredrikN.
Sorry about the late reply.

I again "Rescan Folders" executed and deleted all the files listed on the links. Then again, I "write to day" running and got no error message.
But why the files were deleted, I can always explain it yet.
I have found that the "deleted" file is moved to a folder with the same file as "artist-titel_1.mp3".
Can this be related?

Greetings from germany
Peerli

What is the name of this folder? Is it the Windows TEMP folder?

Post Re: MP3 file(s) deleted after Write to Tag

Hi.
z.B. Danach lasse ich "write to tag" darüber laufen. Nun bekomme ich die Fehlermeldung "file not exists o:\Pink Floyd\The Wall\Pink Floyd - Hey You.mp3".

e.g. I have the album "The Wall" by "Pink Floyd" and a "best of" of "Pink Floyd". Both albums I arrange the files with "attach audio files" from the hard disk "o" to. Then I will "write to day" about running. Now I get the error message "file not exists u: \ Pink Floyd \ The Wall \ Pink Floyd - Hey You.mp3". I look at the hard disk for the file and is really gone! Now I look in the folder "O: \ Pink Floyd \ Best Of", and there is a second file "Pink Floyd - Hey You_1.mp3" because the file is present twice.
I can not tell me this and it appears to come only occasionally.

Did you use the "auto-organize" feature after attaching the files? And did you attach from the main window (batch mode), or from the 'Album Edit' window (one single album at a time)?

first: "attach" than "auto-organize"

from "main window" (all albums)

That is strange. Sounds like the same audio file may have been attached to two different albums. (However, that should not happen if you attach from the main window (batch mode)).

Could also be a corrupt index. Have you tried to repair the database / rebuild all indexes with Tools=>Repair Database?

Hi FredrikN.

I also believe that the index was wrong.
I again "Rescan Folders" executed and deleted all the files listed on the links. This is probably the indexes have been re-read.
What exactly is done because the "auto-organize" and "attach audio files"?

The only way to rebuild indexes is to repair the database.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you are asking here...
