Scan CDs without downloading data from CDDB?
Is it possible to scan CDs to add tracks without downloading data from CDDB?
I find that some data downloaded from CDDB are not accurate or are not entered properly. In those cases, I would prefer to enter track information myself but I still would like to scan CDs to add tracks just so the track length will be entered automatically. (I think Collectorz's MuC can do that).
Also the CDDB download dialog is not so user friendly. (It feels like a 3rd party module bolted on to Catraxx). 1) The dialog is too small especially the tab which displays track names. I hate to scroll up and down that tiny track list window just to edit/update track information. 2) The dialog does not let me choose composers and conductors from the existing Artist/Person list I have defined. I don't want Catraxx to automatically add new names to the list in case the names downloaded from CDDB are not spelled properly. (Artist/Person list is where I add names of composers and conductors. I assume that is how other Catraxx users do since there are not special fields for composers and conductors).
Thanks.

In the album form: ALBUM > SCAN CD - READ TRACK TIMES
Though this will not create empty tracks. It will only update the track times for tracks already entered.

Yes. I tried the "Scan CD - Read Track Times" function and it will only read times for tracks already entered. What a bummer.
Since I can type pretty fast, I would prefer to scan CDs to add tracks with empty titles and then type in track titles myself.
Perhaps Fredrik can add this feature in future versions.

It will also read track times for tracks not in the database (instead of the track title, it will say "[Not in database]" in the 'Scan CD' window). When you click OK these "empty" tracks will be added to the album (support for this was actually added back in version 8.30).

Yes, the CDDB Disc Info window is part of the CDDB Control/system. You could download via Tools=>Download from CDDB. Here you can edit the data before you transfer the CDs to the database.

what I do is - if its not in the CDDB and I am not online I add the CD manually and then after add the cd for scanning
saves using the internet if you dont need to
