 Searching Error
I'm having an error when searching in BookCat. The problem started as I was searching for books and one of my student bumped the power cord and the computer was unplugged. When I restarted it, I am now getting this error when searching. The error is only happening when in Book View and using the quick search field at the top.
Update Recordset An error occurred: "DAODatabase.Execute failed"
"Table 'TMP_CASEYDONATED_Owner_Browse_Book' already exists."
Can anyone please help? I've attached a screenshot of it as well.

 Re: Searching Error
Couple of things to try: 1) Try doing a repair. TOOLS > REPAIR DATABASE Once the repair is complete and if the issue is resolved, you should compact the database (FILE > COMPACT DATABASE)
If that doesn't resolve the issue, try:
2) transferring to a new database.
You will need to create a new database (FILE > NEW DATABASE). Then transfer using the FILE > TRANSFER. Make sure to select everything. Open the new database and check if the issue is resolved.
Let us know how it goes!

 Re: Searching Error
Repair Database worked!
Thank you all so much.
I've been using the program for over a year and am not even close to scratching the surface of this program.
All I know is that it has made my classroom library with over 1000 books SOOO much easier to manage.

 Re: Searching Error
Glad to hear it!
Don't forget to compact the database too. After a repair, the size of the database can become much larger than it needs to be.
Happy CATting!

 Re: Searching Error
Sorry to piggyback on this thread, but I too am having a problem with searching. I don't get a pop up error message, but when I attempt to find a book with the ISBN number, it proceeds to search for it, then Status changes to "Error". I thought there may be a problem with the book I was trying to enter, so tried one of my already entered books. It warned me that the book was already in the database, I clicked on continue, and, again, it started to search, then reported error again. After reading this thread, tried "Repair Database", didn't help. Any other Suggestions? I am using V. 9.22.04 Internet dll version 195
