Catologue of audio & video files
I've been using CATraxx since the very early versions for my audio collection, however i also have a lot of video music files and really need a programme that will catalogue all my audio and video files. The files consist of mp3, wav, mp4, mpeg, vob. Is there anyway that any of the products in the FNProgramvare stable will handle all of these formats?

Catvids seems to be something that would work. You can link a video or audio file to a video/content record with all the information in regards to that item. You can download the PDF Documentation to see how it would work or download the demo.
You can set a certain video player as a default player in setup if you have one that has all codecs to play your files.

Re: Catologue of audio & video files
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure it would work if I've understood your reply properly.
I have thousands of files. Some are mp3, some are mp4, some are vob and so on. I want a programme that will catalogue all of these individually. I don't need the programme to actually play them, just to list them, so that part has no interest for me.
To clarify the situation a little. I'm a DJ or to be more precise a VJ and play music in many formats as previously listed. All of the files I have whether mp3, mp4, vob or whatever are all music tracks, just that some also have a video to the track. I really need a programme that will list all of my files/tracks.

Re: Catologue of audio & video files
Hello, Catraxx has more or less already this possibility, the only downside is for videofiles only it means manual entry of the data. I have a database wich contains besides music also quite a lot of video material. Mostly from dvd boxes wich include cd and dvd. When linking a videofile in the track edit it displays a small icon in explorer view (bottom) so you know you have also a video clip of the same song. Also with filters it's easy to alter the view of catraxx to show only video material or whatever you want to display, it just depends on your needs. On the other hand catvids has again specific video fields wich aren't used in catraxx and with imdb you could get a number of video's without entering it manually. It depends very much to your own needs, if you only want to know if you have a certain video and who played it etc,.. catraxx will do, but if you want to wich cameraman, director, etc, etc was involved catvids is more suitable for the task

Re: Catologue of audio & video files
Hi Guys,
I think what he is asking for, and I have the same request, is can we have Catvids & Catraxx scan some folders and add the titles to the DB, then perform a lookup for the other information? I have 10TB of Music & Video files in different formats as well.
I thought Catraxx can do it for music folders but I can find the same function for video.
Cheers Chris
