Video View

From the Video View you add and edit videos. You can use filters to only display specific videos, for example only DVDs or videos purchased this year.

In this example the grouping list to the left shows the various media formats (DVD, Blu-Ray, etc.) in the database (you can group on almost any data field). Simply click on a format description to display videos in this format.
Video Edit window

This is the Video Edit window where you enter video information. You also add and edit the contents of the video (that is, movie(s) or tv-show episodes) from this window.

CATVids has a comprehensive set of video data fields enabling you to catalog a wide range of information: title, media format, release year, purchase price and date, owner and current value, special and hidden features, and much more.
Video View - Card list

Instead of the standard browse list, you can show a card list in the Video View.

This will display the video cover with the title and format below.
Contents View

From the Contents View you work with the contents of the videos in your collection (for example individual movies or tv-show episodes; a video/box-set can contain multiple titles).

In this example we have grouped by type and genre in the grouping list to the left, and we have selected "Movies" so that only movies are shown in the browse list to the right.
Contents Edit window

The Contents Edit window is where you enter details about movies and tv-show episodes.

You can enter a wide range of information, from title, production year and series (including season and episode) to cast (both leading and supporting roles), crew (director, producer, editor, etc.), studio, aspect ratio, audio details, certification, awards and nominations, and much more.
Contents View - Card list

Instead of the standard browse list, you can also show a card list in the Contents View.

Want List View

Use the Want List View to keep track of titles you have on your want list.

You can track information like title, format, release date, order date, and price. You can also add your own notes.
Lookup View (Person)

From the Lookup View you edit data in the various lookup tables (Person, Format, Genre, Keyword, Series, etc.). Here we are browsing the Person lookup table (actors, directors, writers, etc.).

CATVids uses a relational database model. CATVids automatically creates a link between the video and the entry in the lookup table. When you edit the lookup table, for example, to fix a typing error, the change will be reflected in all fields that are linked to the lookup table.
Lookup Edit window (Person)

In the Person table you can store actor profiles, biographies, as well as pictures and links to web sites.
Lookup Edit window (Genre)

You can set up your own genres by editing the Genre lookup table.
Explorer View

The Explorer View allows you can easily search/browse your database in a familiar web browser interface.

From the home page you can search by various fields, including title, cast, director, studio and production year, and browse your database by cast, director, producer or title.
Explorer View - Browse by cast

Here we are browsing by cast. We have clicked the "W" link, and get a list of all (last) names starting with "W".
Explorer View - Movie list

Here we have clicked "Sigourney Weaver", and get a list of the relevant movies in the database.
Explorer View - Movie details

And finally, here we are exploring one of the movies (Alien 3).

Notice all the hyperlinks you can click. You can for example click the production year link to display other movies from 1992, or one of the genre links to display other movies in the same genre. You also find separate links above to display the cast and crew details, the awards and nominations, in addition to a link to go to the movie's home page at imdb.com.
Download from Internet window

You can download both movie details and information about individual tv-series episodes from the Internet.
Form Designer window

You can use the Form Designer to redesign the layout in all data entry windows.
Report Designer window

CATVids allows you to create your own reports with exactly the layout you want, or you can use one of the more than 100 pre-defined reports. You have full control of data fields, groups, sort order, columns, fonts, colors, paper size, margins and print orientation. Reports can be previewed on the screen, printed, or sent to a file (including Excel, PDF and Word).

This example shows a simple report that prints a list of your videos grouped by the first letter of the title.
Database Setup window

From the Database Setup window you can customize the tables and fields: Change field names, set default values, hide fields you don’t need, etc.
Statistics window

Use the statistics module to get statistical information about your collection.
HTML Export window

You can easily export data to a set of HTML pages you can upload to any web site.
