You can use the Quick Search feature to quickly locate data. For example, if you filter on the Artist field, you can type "B*" to display all artist names starting with "B":

The text after the Set Value button
shows the currently selected filter value ("Bad Religion" in this example). To filter on a different artist you need to double click this artist (or select with the arrow keys and then press the Enter key).
For example, to show the tracks by Belly simply double click "Belly" in this list. The tracks by Belly are now shown in the result list below (note that we in this example are only filtering on artist, not album, thus all tracks by Belly are shown in the result list at the bottom of the window):

Here you can also use the Quick Search feature. For example, to find tracks with "moon" in the title, type "moon" in the quick search box above the result list, then click the Search button (or simply press Enter):
