The main window

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The main window is divided into four sections: The playlist pane, the playback control section, the explorer pane and the current playlist.

1 - Saved playlists

In this section you can access your saved playlists. The list can be grouped by various fields (Type in the screenshot above). Simply double click the playlist you want to play. When you open a saved playlist, the tracks in the playlist are added to the current playlist on the right.

2 - Playback control

Here you control the playback (play, pause, stop, go to next/previous track in the current playlist), jump from one part of the track to another, and adjust the volume. You find additional functions on the Play menu (shuffle, repeat, etc.).

3 - Explorer pane

The explorer pane shows information about the track that is currently playing. You can click on hyperlinks (for example the artist name, album title or genre) in this pane to open the Explorer window where you can explore the data further (and also select new tracks, or albums, to play). From the explorer pane you can also rate the currently playing track, and edit the lyrics.

4 - Current playlist

The list to the right shows the tracks in the current playlist. The active track is shown in bold text. If you want to play another track, simply double-click this track (when one track is finished playing, the next track in the playlist is automatically selected). You can also use the arrow keys to move up or down in the list, then press Enter to play the selected track.

You can change the order of tracks in the playlist by using drag-and-drop (click on the track you want to move, hold down the mouse button, drag the track to the new position, then release the mouse button). To move a track with the keyboard, first select it, then hold down the Ctrl key and use the arrow keys to move the track up or down.
