A manual playlist is a playlist where you manually add tracks to the playlist. You add the tracks from either the Album View (all tracks on an album) or the Track View.
Before you can add tracks to a playlist, you must open the playlist. You do this from either the Playlist Manager View, or by choosing Select Playlist from the Playlist menu in the Album or Track View.

Notice how the first item on the menu shows the name of the active playlist ("My Playlist" in this example).
To add tracks to the playlist, select the album (Album View) or track (Track View) you want to add, then press the F3 shortcut. If multiple albums or tracks are selected, this will add all the selected albums or tracks to the playlist.
You can also add tracks from the explorer; Simply click the
button to the right of the album or track title.

The statusbar at the bottom of the window displays the name of the active playlist, the number of tracks, the total playing time, and the total size of the audio files.
