Working with list layouts

CATraxx uses a browse list to display an overview of records in the active view. In a standard list layout, each row in the grid corresponds to a record in the table (albums in the Album View, tracks in the Track View, artists in the Artist Lookup View, and so on). Each field is displayed in a separate column. The active row is highlighted so that it easy to see which record that is selected. To select multiple records, see to select multiple records. In a thumbnail list layout, each cell in the list will display an image from a different record.

When you create a new database, CATraxx automatically adds various list layouts to the database. A list layout contains information about which fields to display, the font to use and the row selection type. You can easily modify the default layouts, or create your own layouts.

The List Layouts drop-down list above the browse list indicates which layout that is currently active.

If you cannot see the  LayoListuts drop-down list, choose Lists -> Layouts/Sort Orders/Filters from the View menu.

Simply select a layout from this drop-down list to change the active layout. Right-click the drop-down list to display a popup menu with more options:

Add List Layout

In addition, you can also modify the active layout directly by adding a new column, editing a column or removing a column. Use drag-and-drop to change the column order (hold down the Alt key while you drag).
