Downloading disc data

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

CATraxx allows you to both download information about new CDs you add to your database, and to update existing CDs you have previously added (for example to update your database with credits information like songwriters, producers and musicians).

Downloading disc data from CDDB is easy. All you need to do is insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive, and let CATraxx scan the CD. CATraxx will then connect to CDDB and download the disc data.

When adding new CDs, you can either scan and download one CD at a time, or use the batch mode feature which allows you to scan several CDs without being connected to the Internet. When you have scanned all the CDs, you connect to the Internet and download all CDs in one operation. The main advantage of doing it this way is that you only have to be connected for a short time while CATraxx downloads information from CDDB (useful if you pay for your Internet connection by the minute). In addition, the batch mode might be quicker if you want to add a lot of CDs in one session.
