After you have downloaded disc data from CDDB, or added audio files by scanning folders, you may end up with a lookup item you need to split up into multiple items. This is easy, just follow this procedure:
| 1. | Bring up the data entry window for the lookup item you want to edit. |
| 2. | Open the Lookup menu and choose Split You see the 'Split Lookup Item' window. |
| 3. | Specify the separator you want to use when splitting up the text, then click the Split button. |
| 4. | CATraxx adds the new lookup values to the list below. ![]() You can now edit the new lookup values before you save the changes to the database. |
| 5. | Click the OK button to save the changes. CATraxx adds the new lookup items to the relevant table, then updates all fields linked to this table. |
Please note that standard single item lookup fields linked to the lookup table (for example Format) will only contain the first value in the list after you have used the Split function. For example, if you split up "CD & DVD" into two separate items ("CD" and "DVD"), all albums where the format was set to "CD & DVD", will now have the format "CD".
However, multivalue fields like Artist or Author/Publisher will include all the new lookup values after you have used the Split function. For example, using data from the screenshot above, if the Author/Publisher field included one item like this originally:

it will contain three items after you have used the Split function:
