How do I move one of the custom fields from the Custom tab to one of the other tabs?
In this example we will move the (album) Custom 22 date field from the Custom tab to the Library tab:
| 1. | Open the 'Album Edit' window and choose Form Designer from the File menu. You see the 'Form Designer' window. |
| 2. | Click the Custom tab. We could have copied the field to the clipboard and pasted it onto the Library tab, but instead we are going to first delete the field, and then re-add it on the Library tab. |
| 3. | Click to select the Custom 22 field, then choose Delete from the Edit menu.![]() |
| 4. | We also want to delete the corresponding field label: Click to select it, then choose Delete from the Edit menu.![]() |
| 5. | Click the Library tab. Let's say we want to add the field below the Disc Label field. |
| 6. | Open the Insert menu and choose Field, then click below the Disc Label field. You see the 'Insert Field' window. |
| 7. | Open the Custom group and select the Custom 22 field. At the top of the window, make sure Label is set to Left. ![]() Click OK. |
| 8. | You can now position the field example where you want. To move the field with the mouse, simply click and drag. To move the field with the keyboard, click to select, then hold down the Ctrl key and use the arrow keys. |
| 9. | From the File menu choose Close Window and confirm that you want to save the changes. |
| 10. | Back in the 'Album Edit' window, you now see the Custom 22 field on the Library tab. To rename the field, simply right-click and choose Rename Field from the popup menu and give the field a new name in the 'Rename Field' window. ![]() |
