How do I set the primary genre

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

You can assign a book to as many genres as you like. However, you can only have one "primary" genre. The primary genre is shown in bold in the data entry window.

In this example we have selected three genres ("Drama", "Humor", and "Science Fiction"), and "Science Fiction" is the primary genre.

When entering data, the first genre you select is automatically set as the primary genre. To set another genre as the primary genre, right-click and choose "Primary Genre" from the popup menu, or simply press Ctrl+Space. To set "Humor" as the primary genre:

You can access the primary genre with the Primary Genre field. You can group on this field, display it in the browse list, include it in reports, search/filter on this field, etc.
